Why is AED 120,000 added back?
Half of the AED 240,000 entertainment expenditure is not deductible under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022, Article 32. The figure comes from general ledger row 214. Professional review is still required before filing.

The problem

Tax software shouldn't give you a black-box number.

Every material figure in Univia Tax carries its own evidence chain, from the source document to the professional who signed off on it.

  1. Step 1Source documentUploaded, extracted, kept with the figure.
  2. Step 2Mapped figureProposed by Univia, confirmed by a person.
  3. Step 3CalculationUAE Tax Core, deterministic, reproducible.
  4. Step 4Legal referenceArticle-level citations to official sources.
  5. Step 5VerificationTie-outs, reconciliations, exceptions raised.
  6. Step 6Professional reviewSign-off recorded before any filing pack.

How it works

Five steps, in order. Nothing skips review.

  1. 01

    Bring your data

Upload the trial balance, registers, statements and invoices you already have. Univia records what each assignment needs and where every piece stands.

  2. 02

    Univia prepares

Figures are extracted and mapped to the return. Every mapping is a proposal until a person confirms it.

  3. 03

    UAE Tax Core calculates

One deterministic engine computes the return. The same inputs always give the same figures, and every line keeps its formula and legal reference.

  4. 04

    Checks are run

Tie-outs and reconciliations against your business records. Differences become exceptions for review — never silent adjustments.

  5. 05

    You review

The readiness gate lists what still stands between the computation and the FTA. Sign-off is recorded, then the filing pack is generated.

What an assignment needs, and where each piece stands — the same list the preparer, the reviewer and Eshaal work from.

Eshaal · tax assistant

Eshaal explains. The engine calculates.

Eshaal reads your workings, answers in plain language and cites the article. It never produces a figure the engine has not calculated, and it says plainly when a professional must look before anything is filed.

  • Context-aware: it knows which company, return and period you are looking at.
  • Verified: every figure in an answer is checked against Tax Core before you see it.
  • Honest about limits: answers flag professional-review requirements and cite only official sources.

Why does the Dubai output VAT not match the sales register?

The return carries AED 48,250 of output VAT for Dubai; the sales register supports AED 47,900. The AED 350 difference sits in two invoices dated 2 Apr 2026 — after the period end — so they belong to Q2. The computed figure is unchanged; this is a reconciliation exception for your review.

Corporate Tax

A tax period is an assignment, not a form.

Each period opens as a workspace: the mapped figures, the bridge from accounting profit to taxable income, findings with their legal references, a readiness gate, and the filing pack once the reviewer signs off.

Reports & Files

A document library, not a downloads folder.

Every filing pack and working paper is generated on a recorded basis, versioned, immutable once generated and kept with its review status. Reports you generated stay available to you.

Review controls

Four statuses. Never a colour without a word.

The same chip on the dashboard, the worksheet, the readiness gate and the filing pack — so a glance means the same thing everywhere.

Verified or ready
Trial balance ties to the ledger; return ready to file.
Review required
Present — period needs confirmation.
Action required
A blocking condition: missing evidence, an unconfirmed mapping.
Not applicable or not assessed
No reverse-charge supplies this period.

For businesses and finance teams

Approve figures you can explain.

  • See the workings, the source and the legal reference behind each figure before you approve it.
  • Know what is outstanding: a readiness gate for every return, a dashboard that leads with deadlines and attention items.
  • Ask Eshaal why a figure is what it is, and get an answer that cites the law and says when a professional must look.

For tax professionals and firms

A review workflow across every client.

  • One workspace per client company, with firm members assigned to the companies they work on.
  • Reviewer sign-off recorded on every return; filing packs carry the review status and the basis they were generated on.
  • Filing packs and working papers in your client's name, with their logo, from the same immutable library.

Practice-level workspaces are on the Agency plan — see the plan comparison.

Security and governance

Built to be scrutinised.

Tax work is reviewed by people who are accountable for it. The product is built so that what they see can be trusted, and what they signed stays as they signed it.

Tenant isolation in the database
Each company's records are isolated by row-level policies, not only by application code.
Immutable reports, append-only history
A generated filing pack never changes; new versions are added and earlier ones kept with their events.
Nothing is filed for you
Univia prepares and evidences. Submission to the FTA is a human action, recorded — never automated.
Verified assistant
Eshaal's figures are checked against the engine before they reach you, and legal references link only to official sources.
